Professional Packing and Insurance

Our professional packers use high-quality packing materials such as wooden crates (if required), moving boxes, blanket wraps, bubble plastic, polystyrene chips, and acid-free wrapping paper. Special-value items like art or antiques can receive additional “Extra Protection” packing or custom crating. Customers can also opt for comprehensive all-risk insurance to safeguard against unforeseen events.

The Moving Day and Transport

On moving day, an on-site supervisor oversees the entire packing, moving and loading process, ensuring all items are documented, wrapped, labelled and loaded for transport. Our trucks typically depart late in the week and deliver early the following week, depending on the schedule and route plans. For residences with access restrictions, such as estates, a shuttle vehicle may be used to comply with entry regulations.

Unpacking and Valet Services

Upon arrival, Elliott offers a complimentary unpacking service for any cartons packed by Elliott, placing cartons and furniture into the corresponding rooms where they originated. Carton contents are unpacked onto the nearest flat surfaces for easy access. For ultimate convenience, the valet service allows items to be organised into cupboards and storage spaces. If you choose to unpack any cartons that Elliott has packed, we can assist you with removing the boxes and packing materials at a pre-arranged time, if the distance from the warehouse is less than 100km.

• Why insurance? Even with expert handling, moving involves inherent risk. Elliott offers all‑risk insurance to cover unpredictable events.
• Can I unpack myself? Yes. We do however recommend unpacking for you.
• Using my own boxes? Not recommended. Generic boxes lack strength. Our custom, double-walled cartons ensure superior protection. Our staff are also trained to distribute weight and consider how boxes will be placed in the truck for transit.
• Cost factors? Pricing reflects expertise, labour, packing materials, transport distance, special handling, insurance, storage, and seasonal demand.
